Fit For Surgery

Fit for Surgery™ is a limited access Conversational Patient Engagement System created for the Allegheny Health Network. During pre-surgery physician visits, persons scheduled for cardiac surgery are given an access code to view Fit for Surgery prior to their scheduled surgery. The program reinforces the information provided to them by their cardiac team about how to prepare for surgery, what to expect the day of surgery and during their recovery. Sharing of access codes by the patient allows family and caregivers to learn about surgery and recovery, while preserving patient confidentiality.

ONS Oral Chemo Guide

When people think of chemotherapy, they usually think of going to a hospital or clinic and being connected to an intravenous drip or getting an injection. But now, more and more cancer patients are being treated with Oral chemotherapy drugs – cancer medications that you take by mouth, just like most other medications. The Oncology Nursing Society recognized patients and their families needed answers and reassurance about these drugs and their cancer journey on a 24/7 basis. MedRespond was chosen to create this important patient education program.

NAMI San Diego Brings Innovative Technology to the Deaf Community

The Deaf community is underserved by the health care delivery system and public social services due to a lack of understanding as well as limited American Sign Language (ASL) resources.  ASL Conversations Inc. was created to help mitigate these problems using Medrespond’s “Custom Conversations” technology. ASL Conversations’ first project was to work with Medrespond and the National Alliance of Mental Illness – San Diego (NAMI San Diego) to develop an interactive question and answer program around Metal Health and Illness, www.aslanswers.com. The program was developed for other organizations to co-brand using the core content while also customizing it to the specific needs of their organization. Besides Mental Health, ASL Conversations will work with other organizations to build content around subjects as life skills, job training, supportive services, substance abuse, etc.

Supportive Care Options

Persons living with terminal illness and their families face many complex decisions. Supportivecareoptions initiates a dialogue about many of these decisions; responding to a prognosis, reviewing options for care; documenting treatment decisions, finding support and answering financial concern questions. In addition, Supportivecareoptions leads viewers through a decision support tool. This tool can be printed and used to open a discussion about patient values and priorities.

Conversational Customer Engagement

Conversational Patient Engagement can also be applied to Customer Engagement needs.

Regulators required Enersource Hydro Mississauga Inc., the electricity distribution company for the City of Mississauga, Ontario to solicit customer input and sentiment as part Enersource’s Long Range Plan.  They soon recognized the limitations of  traditional approaches such as brochures, opinion surveys, focus groups and workbooks for complex topics such as electricity distribution. Using the customer research created by Decision Partners, MedRespond created a Conversational Customer Engagement tool that had a 20X greater response rate than traditional tools. The Interactive Decision Support Tool case study can be viewed at IDSTVideo
